Accessibility
Last updated
IlmAudio should be usable by everyone who wants to listen, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions.
Our target
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is a target we measure ourselves against, not a claim that every screen currently meets it.
What we do today
- all playback and navigation controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators;
- controls carry accessible names and state, so screen readers announce play, pause, and now-playing correctly;
- we respect the operating system’s reduced-motion setting and drop non-essential animation when it is on;
- text and interface colors are checked for contrast against our dark theme;
- the interface reflows without horizontal scrolling down to small mobile widths.
Known gaps
Transcripts and captions are not yet available for all content, and some older screens have not been through a full audit. We are working through these.
Telling us about a barrier
If something on IlmAudio is difficult or impossible to use, email us at arhamsiddiqui344@gmail.com. Describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using. Reports of accessibility barriers are prioritized, and we will tell you what we find.
